Anti-Ransomware Protection is disabled

Malwarebytes Corporation has released the first beta version of Malwarebytes Anti-ransomware and is available to download for testing. Malwarebytes Anti-ransomware uses advanced proactive technology and doesn’t need signature updates to detect latest or newly emerging ransomware.
According to the company, during the development, the product has successfully detected, blocked and quarantined the most dangerous ransomware variants by likes of CryptoWall4, CryptoLockerTesla, and CTB-Locker. Watch the video of them being detected by Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware in action here.
This is what Malwarebytes CEO said in a blog post: “Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware uses advanced proactive technology that monitors what ransomware is doing and stops it cold before it even touches your files. It has no shot at encrypting. And it does not rely on signatures or heuristics, so it’s light and completely compatible with antivirus.”

How Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware works and protects you against ransomware?
“Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware monitors all activity in the computer and identifies actions which are typical of ransomware activity. It keeps track of all activity and, once it has enough evidence to determine a certain process or thread to be ransomware, blocks the infection and quarantines the ransomware before it has a chance to encrypt users’ files.”
Program UI is simple and shows the real-time protection status with message ‘Anti-Ransomware protection is enabled’, you can disable by clicking on ‘Stop Protection’.
Currently in this beta, the UI offers dashboardQuarantine and Exclusions. All the ransomware variants detected will be moved to quarantine by default, you need to visit that section on the main program window to remove them. The product needs to be running in the background to protect your from ransomware.
